Maybe he'd like to drop by the next TMW meeting...

There's always the chance he was extradited to one of the other states where he was a wanted criminal.

I recall that he was supposed to be extradited to Arizona as soon as he was released from prison here

Clayton, James R
DOB: 02/19/1967
Inmate # 266082
James Clayton shows up in a search of the Arizona Department of Corrections inmate locator.
Looks like he was processed through their system and is out on parole. Check out his AZ Dept. of Corrections "facebook" page.
Looks like as of 9/28/2011 he is on "community supervision."
Release Type: Administrative
For inmates with a date of offense on/after January 1, 1994, a term of community supervision imposed by the committing court which shall be served consecutively to the actual period of imprisonment. Upon release on the Earned Release Credit Date or Sentence Expiration Date, the inmate shall serve approximately 15% of the imposed sentence under supervision. Inmates with concurrent sentences shall serve the longest community supervision term imposed. Inmates with consecutive sentences shall serve each community supervision term imposed consecutively upon release from ADC custody.
I'll bet he doesn't ride any more. Seat probably hurts too much.
Just posted an alert to the Arizona forum on mtbr.com I recall that he ran the same con in AZ prior to coming to Texas.
This guy is a classic sociopath and will be running some scam wherever his goes.
Looks like he was only in there a week. Glad you found him, because I searched and didn't.
For nostalgia sake...

He doesn't look quite as happy in his dept. of corrections "facebook" page...

It appears from the AZ site he is only on community supervision until 01/28/2012? Did he plea down for a lesser charge in Texas? I remember this but not what he finally was convicted of.
Good times.

"Oh, you DO know Betty Blackwell?"
Rob D'Amico of the Austin Chronicle did a great job of covering this story and information on the conviction/plea deal is here.
time spent behind bars don't fit the crime, don't see this as much of a deterrent for others to do the same sh*t.
Wow, I had been casually following his status, but didn't catch all this. I thought for sure he'd face some kind of confinement in Arizona. But hey, the legal system and incarceration are expensive. I'm betting they just didn't want to deal with it...which is why they didn't bother to extradite early on. I guess the lesson is that if you're going to steal something, make it a bike.

Or we could continue to hound the asshole until he’s satisfied is debt with US. Yes, I think I like that option better.
Ya'll don't know what it's like
being male, middle class and white.
He has only paid his debt on *some* of the charges, he has not paid his debt on all of the charges.
And, as a repeat offender that has spent time in jail on multiple occasions, do you think he "learned his lesson" and will never go back to a life of crime?
I'll take the under on that bet.
