YOWZAH! Can't ever remember experiencing gusting winds like this. Trees in the hood maintaining so far -- no broken branches, but some leaves are flying by. Pretty amazing to watch the tall trees in the neighbors' yards whipping around in the wind. Lots of horizontal rain. Drought over?

The weekend rain already made a difference at the main creek crossing as sand was washed downstream from the rock slide. Probably more so after tonight's storm.

Wieners flying everywhere?
Swag flying everywhere. Horizontal wind and rain. But pretty much everything as scheduled.
Rachelle Wood reported two downed trees, before the rains came. I surely can't remember where.

The one closest to the creek got moved sometime during RLAG. The other I *think* she said was somewhere in the Tangle of Trails but that is where we started hightailing it back to the parking lot so I didn't see that one.
I'm sure there are going to be trees and and a lot branches down here and there. Will likely be a few days before things are dry enough even to walk around for an assessment.

I rode Walnut yesterday around 4. The trail was perfect. Nice and tacky. My bike was clean when I get on the trail and clean when I got off. No moondust to speak of and no slick spots either. There were a couple places that had ruts in it, but nothing too terrible.
There was one downed tree branch (proabbly a good 15 feet long) just east of the main creek crossing. (probably 200 hundred yards up the trail from the creek crossing) I tried to lift it, but it was way too heavy. Youll need a saw to get rid of it most likely.
Where is the rock feature that was built people have been talking about?
This would be the landslide, I suppose. Surely not talking about the rock garden that the hikers kept rebuilding. Finally got pretty solid and the other side is like a muddy water hole. I could be available for that workday!
